To Steal all the toys – One of our favorite challenges here on Ad Astra; borrow someone else’s universe and write a story! Entries of 1000+ words only, please. Best theft by vote wins the week.

The Twelve Trials of Triskelion

Week 01

The first week of the Twelve Trials of Triskelion (2014 edition) is upon us, Thralls!

And you know what that means. You don’t? Well, then, allow me to enlighten you. I am here to tell you all about the Twelve Trials of Triskelion.

The Twelve Trials is twelve weeks of fun and creativity and frivolity over the summer months (or, if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere, the winter months).

Week 01 is the Ficlet Flashdance – Ficlet a day challenge!  Every day, write one story of 500 words or less and post the links under the thread.  At the end of the week, only those who completed all seven are eligible to win.

Along with all of the reading often comes a ton of reviewing. Last year, it was tough to wait for writers to update. Everything, it seemed, was must-read.

Now go out and have a boatload of fun, Thralls.

Participants are tied to a wall until they finish their daily entries. Oops, I wasn’t supposed to say that.

Twelve Trials of Triskelion 2014 edition

The Twelve Trials of Triskelion was a rousing success in 2013, its inaugural year. This year, we’re hoping for even more participation.

Planned activities include a fan art competition, a steal the toys challenge, blog like a boss, and review square dance. The whole thing kicks off with a site favorite, the ficlet flash dance! We’re all rather excited about the upcoming fun and festivities.
